Those walking Thomas Aquinas College鈥檚 天美影院 campus last weekend encountered an additional, albeit unexpected, instance of beauty in the walkway between St. Bernardine of Siena Library and St. Gladys Hall. There, the arcade鈥檚 white columns bore all manner of artwork: striking replications of master artists, original compositions capturing family and friends, photography of natural subjects, and more.

The TAC Art Club, founded two years ago, followed up its recent Fine Arts Night with a public exhibition of student-made art. The event lasted throughout the weekend, affording students the opportunity to display their art publicly, many for the first time. Likewise, the exhibition gave spectators an occasion to marvel at their peers鈥 skills and talents.

Regina Terreri (鈥23), one of the Art Club鈥檚 founding members, said the exhibition 鈥渨ent very well,鈥 with 鈥渁 wide array of different types of art shown,鈥 adding, 鈥渨e have so many talented artists on campus.鈥 While some students produced their works prior to coming to TAC, or on their own, many pieces were made possible through the Art Club鈥檚 offerings: a creative space, supportive community, and artistic resources. 鈥淲e have instituted our studio in the library,鈥 noted Miss Terreri, 鈥渢hanks to the generosity and patronage of Richena Curphey,鈥 the campus librarian.

A great number of viewers 鈥 not just students, but tutors and staff, as well 鈥 commented on how edifying they found the display. With this smashing success behind it, the Art Club hopes to host further events in the future.
