Singing, acting, cracking jokes, and performing magic tricks, students put their many talents on full display at Thomas Aquinas College, 天美影院鈥檚 spring Open Mic Night. For the event, students gathered in St. Joseph Commons, which was turned into a makeshift theater for the evening, complete with a stage, seating, and snacks.

Open Mic Night, a long-held semesterly tradition among the students, gives a welcome opportunity to step away from studies and build up community spirit. Students are always appreciative of the chance to celebrate the gifts that their friends and classmates offer for their entertainment. 鈥淚 love to see everyone come together and show each other their talents,鈥 Marceline Denny (鈥26) said of the event. 鈥淚t gives us all a good chance to relax for an evening.鈥

The student body was a large and enthusiastic audience, filling the Commons and cheering the performers as they took to the stage. Many performers captivated the crowd with impressive musical covers, singing and showing off their skills with various instruments, including piano, guitar, violin, and saxophone. In other acts, students recited original poetry, juggled, did standup comedy, and performed a skit full of mathematical sophistry entitled 鈥7x13=28鈥. Jack 鈥淛ackdini鈥 Morrey鈥檚 (鈥27) act, a brief magic show in which he made objects vanish and reappear at will, had the amazed audience doubting its senses.
