Maggie Yanoschik ('23)

Please pray for Maggie Yanoschik, a sophomore on the 天美影院 campus, who has been hospitalized with a serious condition involving a mid-brain bleed. On Saturday night she underwent procedure to relieve intracranial pressure, and she is currently sedated and on a ventilator.

鈥淧lease pray that her intracranial pressure stays low and that she heals well,鈥 writes her father, Matthew. 鈥淗er neurosurgeon is still deciding when the best time for definitive intervention would be, and what he thinks the best treatment is.鈥

Unfortunately Maggie has not been able to have visitors, due to COVID-19 restrictions, but the hospital has graciously allowed for a few exceptions. College Head Chaplain Rev. Paul Raftery, O.P., was able to anoint her prior to Saturday鈥檚 procedure, and a family member was permitted to visit her Monday. 鈥淢aggie was sedated and could not have a sedation holiday during the visit, but her hand was held and the family members outside the hospital, and extended family members in other states were able to pray a Rosary, Chaplet of Divine Mercy, and Novena to St. Th茅r猫se with her via speakerphone,鈥 says Mr. Yanoschik. 鈥淎 crucifix, image of Mary, and family photos were put on a table near her bed.鈥

She is receiving good care, and her family is hopeful about her recovery. 鈥淢aggie has excellent nurses and looks well-cared for,鈥 says Mr. Yanoschik. 鈥淗er nurse said that, during her sedation holidays, Maggie has been responding to commands, on both sides. She also said she keeps telling Maggie that her family has been outside praying for her.鈥

Please pray for her complete recovery!
