Scarf Party

TAC-New England celebrated the peak of autumn last week with festive scarves and apple-cider donuts, following the close of Friday鈥檚 classes.

The annual scarf party on Gould Lawn 鈥 for which a scarf is absolutely required for entry 鈥 is a treasured tradition on the Northfield, Massachusetts, campus, where autumnal leaves and cool temperatures create a stunning backdrop for the season. Prefects passed out flavorful apple-cider doughnuts covered in tantalizing cinnamon sugar, which were eagerly devoured by students swathed in scarves. 鈥淚 love these little seasonal parties,鈥 said Teresa Bingham (鈥26). 鈥淚t gets the community together and boosts everyone鈥檚 mood.鈥

Down the hill from the Gould Hall, the first soccer game of the intramural season took place, pitting the team of Mark Goyette (鈥26) against that of Ethan Connelly (鈥27). Students cheered for each goal as they ate their doughnuts, enjoying the perfect fall weather. 鈥淭he campus looks like a painting,鈥 said Zachary Starck (鈥27). 鈥淭his is New England autumn at its finest.鈥
